Why do gas cylinders require dedicated storage?

Gas cylinders present a range of hazards including health, physiochemical and incompatability hazards. Gas cylinders should be stored in dedicated storage that reduces the risks associated with these Class 2 dangerous goods.

What is the Australian Standard for gas cylinders?

Gas cylinders and aerosols fall under the Australian Standard AS 4332 - The storage and handling of gases in cylinders. There are also additional Standards for specific gas divisions including LPG. However, AS 4332 provides an overview of the best practise for compressed gases in cylinders in the workplace.

Where should Gas Cages be installed?

To ensure adequate ventilation and a minimisation of hazards, such as ignition and harm to human health, we recommend installing Gas Cages in a protected outdoor environment, away from incompatible gases and dangerous goods.
